Our History

Reese is a full service advertising, public relations and digital media agency located in Wyomissing, Pennsylvania, just outside of Reading. That’s about fifty miles from Philadelphia.

We were founded in 1981 by Tom Reese and a partner who left the business a few years later. Known for many years as Reese and Associates, Tom created enormous positive brand equity as a business, and a man, of irreproachable integrity. To capitalize on that reputation, Matt Golden and Greg Purcell kept the Reese name, but shortened it, when they acquired Tom’s agency in 2005. We think they kept the irreproachable integrity as well. (And they added the fun and games.)

Like most agencies Reese evolved over the years. Initially a largely business-to-business agency, we now enjoy a roughly 50/50 split between our consumer and B-to-B clients. Our clients are primarily in the Middle Atlantic States, with a few located in New England and the New York City area.

Over the years we’ve worked with just about every category of client. Financial, of course, especially community banks, some of whom have grown into giant regional banks. We prefer the community banks. There’s also telecommunications, economic development and tourism, children’s products, organic products and a ton of non-profits. Healthcare, batteries, metals, manufacturing, insurance…the list goes on and on.

In addition to our close involvement with clients, Reese has a well-deserved reputation for community involvement and public service. In fact, some people call us the Kings of Capital Campaigns since our work has helped to raise tens of millions of dollars both locally and nationally.
