Greater Reading Convention and Visitors Bureau (GRCVB)
Public Relations, Print Advertising
When success is measured by the number of overnight stays – and state funding for your annual budget hinges on it – generating buzz and drumming up tourism is critical.
Through careful analysis and media placement and accurate articulation of the GRCVB brand – from colors and active visuals to unusual layouts in tourism ads – Reese has successfully reinforced the area’s unique features with its target audiences.
Reese developed a Public Relations plan to create ambassadors who promote Greater Reading, generate interest and visitors (preferably for overnight stays), and to grow the GRCVB brand among tourists and meetings and conventions planners. Through news releases and media relations, Reese highlights the features and benefits of Greater Reading to encourage tourists to “Take A Ride” (just like the tagline says) to enjoy rich history, culture and arts, dining and entertainment, and unique festivals.
Although most of the advertising has been less than a full page, GRCVB has generated more than 20,000 leads in less than a year. As for PR placements, GRCVB has been integral in the Greater Reading’s national accolades on NBC’s Today Show, Great Escapes syndicated travel show and Forbes.com — fabulous placements their non-profit budget could not buy.
